MMFA Association gains two new members: Hymmen and Proline Systems join in

The MMFA – the Multilayer Modular Flooring Association, based in Bielefeld – announced that the association is pleased to welcome new players to its network: Hymmen and Proline Systems have joined as extraordinary members.

Bielefeld-based German company Hymmen GmbH Maschinen- und Anlagenbau develops and distributes machines and technology for the flooring industry. Proline Systems GmbH (Boppard/Germany) is a specialist for profile and matting systems for walls and flooring since 1994. These new entries increase the MMFA’s total of members to 46 companies and institutions, which also reflects the dynamic market development of the modular multilayer flooring systems.

The MMFA Multilayer Modular Flooring Association is an organization which represents the leading producers of flooring in Europe and their suppliers. The Association was established in late October 2012 in Munich, Germany, by seven European flooring producers. The association’s registered headquarters are in Bielefeld, also in Germany. The sphere of activities covers all of Europe. The seven founding members of the MMFA association were: akzenta Paneele + Profile GmbH (Kaisersesch/D), Hamberger Flooring GmbH & Co. KG (Stephanskirchen/D), Li & Co AG (Müstair/Switzerland), MeisterWerke Schulte GmbH (Rüthen-Meiste/D), Parador GmbH & Co. KG (Coesfeld/D), Skema S.r.l. (Ponte di Piave, Treviso/Italy) and Windmöller Flooring Products GmbH (Augustdorf/D).

The stimulus for the launch came from the sector itself. More and more flooring products are developed and introduced to the market, which are multilayer products by construction and composition and therefore are not covered by the existing categories of either laminate or elastic flooring. The final trigger were the increasing sales volumes of multilayer floorings with various surfaces such as LVT, cork, PU or PET – or a bit more objective under the standard name „multilayer semi-rigid floorcoverings“. That is why the producers saw the need for launching a proper European association in order to represent their specific interests. All existing and future multilayer products which have not found a home yet with the existing associations get the opportunity to have their interests represented under the new MMFA umbrella.

The MMFA is an international platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences between producers of multilayer modular flooring and their supply industries. The focus of the Association’s work revolves around research, development, the introduction of standards, representation at international trade fairs, evaluation of statistical data and active media and public relations work.
