MultiProfil, the specialist for wrapped moldings has recently presented some very interesting product developments, of which some are even filed for a patent.
The company based in Verl has put a special focus on lightweight profiles, which convince with their chunky look, while they are very light and material saving. To reach this, relatively thin MDF boards are joined together in a mature production process. Afterwards they are wrapped. “When we apply an ABS edge, you can’t differentiate it from a solid MDF profile. However, the weight is up to 60% less” says Heinz Ebbinghaus, Managing Director of the company. Also in terms of functionality and strength, the lightweight profiles are not worse than the conventional profiles. This is because MultiProfil is able to insert solid MDF blocks into the profile, which allow the use of standard fittings and hinges.
Another new item, which is presented recently, is the “soft touch profile”. These profiles are wrapped with upholstered artificial leather, which give e.g. bed sides a very soft feel. A further development of the upholstered wrapping was even filed for a patent. With a special process, the company is able to wrap even paper foils with a cushioning. Heinz Ebbinghaus: “With this product our customers are able to offer e.g. soft bed head boards with exactly the same foil as used on the bed sides.”
Besides the new products, MultiProfil also offers their whole product range including Mirror Frames, Furniture Doors, and of course wrapped mouldings for all conceivable applications.
