Volunta Parket, Lithuanian engineered parquet producer, launched new products through a virtual reality app which allows customers to design their home and experience it in 3D through Google Cardboard.
For the first time in the world on the flooring market, Volunta Parket introduced new products simultaneously in real life at the leading floor fair Domotex 2017 in Germany and via virtual reality app. Trade exhibitors in Germany had the opportunity to experience how Volunta Parket products look in different interior settings in 3D.
“We are trying to find our unique way how to mix time-honored woodworking skills with innovations. By demonstrating our customers parquet in 3D, we want customers to experience and image better how their chosen color or pattern would look like in their home. The end goal is that our clients would be happy about the choice they made” commented Aušrinė Saurusevičiūtė, Head of Marketing, on reasons for the development of the app.
The app is developed by Planner 5D, a European company specializing in interior design creating tools. The app allows customers to choose different flooring solutions, new colors and textures. A person only has to put Google Cardboard on and walk through their new interior like in reality.
“We are working on interior design creating tools since 2012. Our Planner 5D App has been downloaded 2.5M times on Google Play and iTunes. When Volunta parket approached us with the offer to collaborate, it was the perfect opportunity to test how we can modify our virtual reality platform for a particular business. Volunta has a wide color range and unique surfaces in their portfolio – it was great opportunity to improve our app and create real life looking textures. After Domotex, we already have several co-creation ideas for the future” said Jonas Gavelis, Planner 5D VP of Marketing.
Volunta parket products are sold in more than 40 countries. The customers’ reaction to the company’s interactive initiative will be tested in Vilnius.
